The First Baptist Medical Center (FBMC) team is excited to welcome Robert Fischer, MD, as the leader of our emergency and inpatient departments. He joins us through our partnership with Envision Physician Services, a leading national medical group.
“I’m thrilled to begin working alongside the very talented and dedicated clinicians and clinical staff at First Baptist Medical Center,” Dr. Fischer said. “We share a common goal of providing the highest quality of care and making sure patients have an exceptional experience.”
Dr. Fischer leads a team of physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The team works closely with patients throughout their care journey – from the time they enter the emergency department to when they are able to leave the hospital and return home.
“I’m incredibly humbled by and proud to serve the North Texas community. We are committed to improving the health and well-being of patients, and we want them to know that we’ll always be there, providing lifesaving care, a shoulder to cry on and a hand to hold.”
As a Texas native and member of the Dallas community, Dr. Fischer understands the unique needs of our patients and their families. He will guide the team in providing compassionate, evidence-based care that’s tailored to each patient.
“I was inspired to pursue a career in medicine because I saw the difference caregivers make in patients’ lives,” said Dr. Fischer, whose father is also a physician.
“I’m so fortunate to have the opportunity to help people heal and genuinely improve the health of our communities.”
Dr. Fischer received his bachelor’s degree in logistics and supply chain management from the University of North Texas and earned his medical degree from the University of Queensland School of Medicine in Australia. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center in Ohio.
Dr. Fischer and the Envision team began leading emergency and inpatient care at FBMC on February 15, 2021.
